SOA Calculator - Privacy & Usage Notes
Privacy
Your privacy is very important to us, so please read this paragraph before deciding whether or not to use the optional Save Data function. This is particularly important because you will be entering sensitive financial information that you may not want others to see. First of all, rest assured that makesenseofcards never stores any information that you enter on its servers. In fact no data is stored anywhere at all unless you choose to use the optional Save Data function. When you click on the "Save Data" button, it stores all the information that you have entered as 'cookies' on your computer. Cookies are small bits of information that a web page stores on your computer's hard disk so that it can remember the information for when you return. If you share your computer with other users, then you need to be aware that others may be able to see your saved information. If this concerns you then you have two choices. Either don't use the Save Data function at all or make sure that you use the Erase Data button when you finish using the calculator. Please note that SOA Calculator cookies are stored for 200 days (approx 7 months).
Usage Notes
Saving your SOA means that you can come back to review it later, without having to key it all in again. This can be particularly useful when you are creating your SOA for the first time but don't have enough information or time to complete it on your first visit. You can save it while still incomplete and then continue working on it when you have more information or more time.
To save all the information that you have entered in your SOA, simply click on the "Save Data" button. If the data has successfully been saved, you will receive the following message - "Your data has been saved. You can restore it within the next 200 days by using the Load Data button." If the calculator has been unable to save your data, you will receive the following message - "The SOA Calculator has NOT been able to save your data, because your browser is not accepting cookies." In order to use the Save Data function, your browser must be set up to accept cookies. In Internet Explorer, you can check whether you are accepting cookies by Selecting Tools, Internet Options and then clicking on the Privacy tab.
Once your data has been saved, you can re-load your SOA by clicking on the "Load Data" button.
